Arbo

What is Arbo?

This app was made as our final project for Mobile Application Development. Our group had a task to create a useful android application that could connect to a database. The idea that we settled with was Arbo, an application that could allow users to mark different types of trees on a map using Google's map API. Different trees would be shown by different pin colors and could be filtered to show specific trees on the map.

Arbo Struggles

The biggest struggle with creating Arbo would be learning Android Studio and group communication. For me personally I struggled with learning Android Studio as I had no experience in java or Kotlin beforehand, but we needed to understand Kotlin and it's object oriented programming in order to make the app.

What I Learned

I feel like the biggest thing that I took away from this class was how to work with a group of programmers. We had seven people in our group and used github desktop as our version control. While everyone had different responsibilities, I think that the project turned out pretty alright in the end.
